Noland's Obituary

Mr. Noland Murray, Sr., 81, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont,Texas.

Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Murray will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1395 Gladys Street in Beaumont, Texas 77701. A public viewing for Mr. Murray will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial Service to follow at Live Oak Memorial Park and Cemetery in Nederland, Texas. For your safety social distancing and facial masks are recommended.

Noland's Journey

Noland Murray, Sr., was born on October 19, 1942 to the late Edmonia Murray and the late Arthur Murray, Sr. in Opelousas, Louisiana.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Earline Murray, Gladys Johnson, Elnora Parker, and Joanne Rose; two brothers, Charles Murray and Arthur Murray; and his wife, Marie Haynes-Murray.After graduating, Noland moved to Beaumont, Texas. He was a very committed and loved employee at Howell’s Furniture Store for over thirty years as a delivery driver and warehousemanager. He worked for Sawmill and FEMA. He retired as a bus driver for Hotard/OnPoint for ten years where he continued to be one of the most loved employees.Noland’s memory will be cherished by his eight children, Ara Morris of Houston, Texas, Patricia Phillips  of Beaumont, Texas, Noland Murray, Jr., of Beaumont, Texas, Willie Murray of Houston, Texas, Myrtle Mitchell of Beaumont, Texas, Ricely Murry of Port Arthur, Texas, Lillie Spiller (Doug) of Beaumont, Texas, and Carrington Murray (Ty) of Beaumont, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; Also cherishing his memories are three sisters, Geraldine Andrus of Opelousas, Louisiana, Grace White (Melvin) of Houma, Louisiana, and Beverly Boudreaux (Tilden) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; as well as three brothers, Willie Murray (Jermelyn) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, John Murray (Tina) of Ville Platte, Louisiana, and Joel Murray of Opelousas, Louisiana; two brothers-in-law, Joel Parker and Calvin Rose, and one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Murray, of Beaumont, Texas; his uncle, Oscar Murray of Beaumont, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will also cherish his memory.
