Norbert “Nubs” W. Koosmann, age 84 of Mellen, WI passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at his residence. Norbert was born Sept 12, 1933 in Mellen, the son of Wilhelm H. and Frieda G. (Bonitz) Koosmann.
On Sept 26, 1959 he was united in marriage to Joyce A. Saari in Ironwood, MI. He was employed at the veneer mill in Mellen for over 45 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. Favorite past times for Norbert were, Wii bowling, jigsaw puzzles, word search and conversing and spreading the word of God.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joyce, of Mellen; sons, Glenn (Sherri) of Mellen and Kevin (Rhonda) of Mosinee, WI; daughters, Diana Weisenberger of Schofield, WI, Lorna (John, Jr.) Grande of Mosinee, WI and Wanda (Mark) Bernett of Malone, WI; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd (Mary) of Ashland, WI, Kenneth of Mellen, WI and Donald (Annette) of Mellen, WI; sisters, Shirley Heglund of Aurora, MN, Sylvia Heglund of Mellen, WI, Ruth Josephson of Mellen, WI, Leila (Bruce) Bernard of Eau Claire, WI and Joyce (David) Kaseno of Barron, WI as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jason and granddaughter, Melissa.
A funeral service for Norbert will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mellen with Reverend Karl Wellnitz officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church in Mellen on Saturday and continue until the hour of service.
Interment will take place in Saint John’s Cemetery, Cozy Valley, WI.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Mellen and Ashland, WI.
