I really do not know where to start as I sit here and cry. I met Norine many years ago when MawMaw took care of little Amanda, which she is not so little anymore, all grown up with kids of her own now, if MawMaw could only see her now and her babies, she would have spoiled them the same way as she did Amanda. Norine became a part of our family before James and I were ever together and stayed a part of our family throughout the years. She always called me Sis and always called me her sister....

Norine L. Hanley 62, of Lorain passed away Thursday September 23 after battling a brief illness.
Norine was born in Lorain December 6, 1958 moved to the Florida Panhandle for 17 years before returning back to the North East, Ohio area.
Norine was retired from the service industry. Her greatest achievement was competing in the McDonald's All-American Competition, which she won a Gold Medal and the opportunity to attend the 2002 Salt Lake City Utah Olympics.
Norine took great pride in her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments she was proud of her son Matthew for starting his 21st year of teaching at Open Door Christian School. She supported her grandkids in all their extra-curricular activities including soccer, baseball, pageantry and video gaming.
Norine’s favorite past time were crafting and sewing, she enjoyed handmaking gifts for her loved ones, grandkids and their classmates and teachers.
She is survived by her children Matthew (Jessica) Loescher and Amanda (Damian) Moretz and her grandchildren; Bailey Loescher, Parker Loescher, Chayse Hanley, Alexandria Loescher, Ryleigh Moretz and Addyson Moretz; sister Nina K. Kimbel, and brother James Higgins (Crystal) of Kentucky.
Norine in preceded in death by her brother, William A Higgins; father, James R. Higgins; mother, Marianne Dessain (nee Arnold) and step father Warren D. Dessain.
Her family will receive friends Friday, October 1 from 2 to 6 PM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. At 3: 30 PM a Celebration of Life will be conducted by Rev. Chuck Beherens of the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
