Norma Jean Kiminski, 80, of Willow River, died peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2023 at home with her family by her side. She was born on May 23, 1943, in Norman Township, Minnesota to Leonard and Alta Youngberg.
She grew up west of Willow River where she attended a one-room schoolhouse in her early years, later graduating from Willow River High School in 1961. On June 17, 1961, Norma married Leonard Kiminski in St Paul, MN. They started their family in St. Paul, later moving to Hastings where they raised 3 children: Bonnie, Lance, and Jim. In 1974, they moved back to the Willow River area where she worked at the Moose Lake nursing home and had some seasonal jobs as a census taker and laying sod. Norma later managed the books for the family blacktopping company.
Norma and Leonard enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. for many years to escape the Minnesota winters. She enjoyed reading, fishing, baking, playing cards, gardening, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
