Okater's Obituary
Okater Cox, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 14 siblings, and her husband.
Okater McFarland was born to Annie and Jackson McFarland on February 21,1946 in Hulbert, Arkansas.
Okater moved to Wynne, Arkansas and graduated from Childress High School in 1965. Later that year on, October
10, 1965, she married Earl Lawrence Cox. This union produced three children. Okater worked at Addison Shoe Factory for almost 40 years.
Okater had a deep faith. She loved God and committed herself to serve him. She was a member of Union Valley MBC. She enjoyed bowling, watching sports, reading the Bible and staying current on the news.
Okater leaves to cherish her memory three children; Kirklyn Cox, Earl Cox Jr., and Okater Michele (Antwuan) Bacon; one grandchild, Andrew Bacon; two sisters, Shirley Jean Ward and Mary Ann Hughes. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
