Olga Kachmarsky, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Lower Saucon Township. She was residing at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown at the time of her passing. Born on January 7, 1929, in Taylor, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary (Fedora) Stachun. Olga was the beloved wife of the late George Kachmarsky, who passed away in 2002.
Olga dedicated many years of her life to her work in the garment industry, where she was employed as a fabric inspector. She also worked as a cigar maker for General Cigar Company in Kingston and later for Fortune Fabric in Swoyersville. She took great pride in her work and was known for her strong work ethic.
In her free time, Olga found joy in simple pleasures, especially baking and sewing. She cherished time spent creating for her family and took comfort in the traditions she maintained throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving children: Jane D. Civiletti and her husband Thomas of Oak Grove, Oregon, and Mark G. Kachmarsky of Lower Saucon Township. She is also survived by her siblings, Michael Evans and his wife Shirley of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and Nancy Navin of Enfield, Connecticut. Olga will be dearly missed by her two grandchildren, Adria Civiletti and Lauren Kachmarsky.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dolores Drago, Mildred Silfies, and John Evans.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation period from 11 - 11:30 followed by her memorial service at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. Interment will be at a later date at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania.
