Olga Deleon Mata, 83, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas while under the care of the amazing staff at Inspiration Hills Rehabilitation Center. Born on August 14, 1942, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Olga’s journey was marked by resilience, intelligence, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
A proud San Antonian through and through, Olga built a meaningful career as an administrative secretary at Our Lady of the Lake University. Her professionalism and dedication also extended to her work in various local medical offices across the San Antonio area. In every role she held, Olga brought a sharp mind and a strong work ethic that earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Olga's heart belonged to her family. She shared a devoted marriage with her husband, Rudy Mata. Together they bestowed love onto their two sons, Noel & Missy Tello and Gustavo & Debra Pierce. And their four grandchildren Austin & Elizabeth Tello, John Nicholas Tello, Samantha Nicole Tello, and Noel Jr. & Stephanie Tello
She is also remembered with love by her siblings: Santa Erlinda Lopez, Mary Ann Sanchez, Faustino Sibrian Jr., and Frank Sibrian. Olga is preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Sibrian; father, Gilbert DeLeon, and sister, Josephine DeLeon Gonzales.
Beyond her professional accomplishments and family ties, Olga was known for her vibrant spirit. She had a deep love for music—especially cumbias and polkas—and never missed a chance to dance. Whether at family gatherings or community events, she lit up the room with rhythm and joy.
Olga lived life to the fullest. She was fiercely loyal—if anyone ever came against someone she loved, she would stand by their side without hesitation. Her strength of character left an indelible mark on those who knew her.
