Mr. Ollie Green Chester,was born in Cusseta, Georgia in Chattahoochee County. He was the third child of the late Ollie Green Chester, Sr. and Eddie Mae Carr Chester. He was called to his heavenly home Friday, March 11, 2016 at his home in Geneva, Georgia. He was a member of St. James C.M.E. Church where earlier years, he served as Ward Leader, Usher, and a member on the Financial Committee. Mr. Chester was established professionally and socially throughout the community. Mr. Chester was retired from AAFES Civil Service at Ft. Benning, Georgia, where he was employed for over 20 years. Ollie continued working part time as a Barber and over the years attained the title as a Master Barber. He was the owner and operator of Chester's Vault Company and Delegol Monument and Vault Company and was a certi?ed Septic Tank Contractor. In the town of Geneva, he served on the Town Council and was the ?rst selected to be Mayor Pro Tem. In March of 2008, he was elected the Mayor of Geneva and was re-elected for a second term. He was a strong supporter of the Geneva Volunteer Fire Department. Ollie also served on the Ft. Valley State University Agricultural Committee. One of his most heartfelt and prized accomplishments was in May 1983, his invitation into Membership of Modern Free and Accepted Masons of the World Pace Makers, Lodge #1000; he was a member for over 30 years and Past Patron of the Princess Chapter#194. He was preceded in death by his parents. His ?rst wife and mother of his children, Louise Jones Chester; a sister, Mrs. Earline Phillips Chester. He leaves to cherish his memories; a wife of 26 years, Carrie Delegol Chester; one brother, Willie Edward Chester (Louise); one sister, Christine Chester Rogers; two sons Derek and Kelvin Chester (Debbie) and one daughter, Mavis Nell Chester. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
