Rest in Peace Sgt. Oneal "OO" Ozan, you will be sorely missed by all that knew you. I know God is having a ball laughing from all of your "one liner jokes". It was my pleasure knowing and working with you. Thank you for service in the military protecting our freedom and also your service in TDCJ protecting our citizens. Rest in Peace my friend!!!

Oneal's Obituary

Oneal Anthony Ozan, aged 77, passed away on October 17, 2024, in Nederland, Texas. Born on September 3, 1947, Oneal was a lifelong Texas resident who touched many lives with his humor and generous spirit.

Oneal graduated from West Liberty High School and proudly served in the Marines for three years followed by six years in the Air Force, embracing the discipline and camaraderie of military life. After his service, he dedicated ten years to Exxon Mobil Corporation before transitioning to a 14-year career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where he was respected for his commitment and integrity.

An active member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames, Texas; Oneal was deeply involved in his community and faith. He was an avid collector of firearms, enjoyed games of chance, loved playing dominoes and he remained a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Oneal was the beloved brother of Wallace Ozan Sr. and Woodrow Ozan, who is married to Yolanda. He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews: Pam (John) Barr, Wallace Ozan Jr., Diane Perry Hebert (Thomas), Al Perry, Steve Ozan (Jackie), Charlotte Ozan, Kimberly McDaniel Kidd (Corey), Romona Ozan, Jessica Ozan (Rachel), Lynn Ozan, Darwin Ozan, and Robert Ozan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ofield and Aleida (Walters) Ozan, his sisters, Bertina Perry, Lucille Ozan, and his brothers, Fabian Trahan, Frederick Ozan Sr., Johnny Ozan, and Michael Ozan.
