Owen's Obituary

Owen Jeffrey Burton of Springer, New Mexico, was called Home to be with our Lord on February 28, 2026, at the age of 24. He was born on October 13, 2001, to Albert and Monica Burton, in Raton, New Mexico. He attended and graduated from Springer High School in 2020. Following his graduation, he briefly attended New Mexico State University, and afterward tried out various jobs, including working at a packing house and working on a well line. He finally landed on his true passion, playing harmonica and piano in a band while immersing himself in his family's cattle operation. In the midst of this, he met and fell in love with Aidee Najera and began to build a future with her by his side. He is survived by his beautiful fiancé and their baby girl, his grandparents, Frank and Jeannie Burton, and Angie Serrano, his parents, Albert and Monica Burton, his siblings, Hannah Long and her husband Corey, Ruben Serrano, Wade Burton, and Olivia Burton, his nephews, Henry and Colin Long, several Uncles, Aunts, and cousins, and endless friends and family.

Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Springer on Sunday, March 8th, at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at the Springer cemetery, and a meal will be held at the Colfax County Fairgrounds.

Owen loved music, good horses, art, and all of God's beautiful creations. However, he loved nothing more than his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.  May Owen rest in peace in our Lord's loving arms, until we meet again…

Arrangements for Owen Jeffrey Burton are entrusted to the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
