Owen M. Yoder, age 90 of Nappanee, died peacefully at 6:45 am on Friday morning, August 8, 2025 at the Waters of Wakarusa. Owen was born on November 11, 1934 to Menno and Malinda (Miller) Yoder in Nappanee. On October 25, 1956, Owen married Elnora Jean Miller in Kosciusko County. Owen was a lifelong farmer, living on his family’s farm most of his life. Owen enjoyed life and did not know a stranger. He will be remembered for his laugh and his love for his family and the family farm. Above all else, Owen loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He attended the Nappanee Missionary Church for many years. Owen is survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Elnora Jean Yoder of Nappanee; 3 children: Orus (Sue Etta) Yoder of Bremen, Lavern (Eva) Yoder of Nappanee, and Marlene (Doug) Yoder of Nappanee; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 step great granddaughter; 2 siblings, Laura Nissly of Sarasota, FL and Ervin Yoder of Shipshewana, IN; brother-in-law, Devon Fingerle of Sarasota, FL; and 2 sisters-in-law, Leanna Yoder of Belle Center, OH and Marie Yoder of Sarasota, FL. Owen was preceded in death by his parents and 9 siblings: Alvin Yoder, Lester Yoder, Levi Yoder, Emmon Yoder, Amos Yoder, Willie Yoder, Lizzie Hochstetler, Gertie Yoder, and Sylvia Fingerle. Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Monday, August 11, 2025 in the Nappanee Missionary Church Chapel (Use Entrance H) and from 9-10 am on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in the Nappanee Missionary Church Worship Center (Use Entrance A). A funeral service will begin at 10 am on Tuesday in the Nappanee Missionary Church Worship Center with Pastor Jason Rohde officiating. Burial will take place in Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery, Nappanee.
