Pal's Obituary

Mr. Pal Lawrence Mingo, entered rest on November 12, 2025.

Pal Lawrence Mingo was born on February 6, 1935, in Ringgold, Louisiana, to Dennis Mingo and Florida Gipson Mingo, both of whom preceded him in death. To their union four children were born Miller, Ruth, Nehemiah, and Pal. He was also blessed with seventeen siblings from his parents’ previous marriages, making a total of twenty-one siblings, all of whom have also preceded him in death.

Pal attended Ringgold Colored High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1955. Shortly after, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he later met the love of his life, Cecil Marie Butler. Together they welcomed two children, Alfred Mingo and Paula Mingo.

A devoted man of God, Pal was a long-time and faithful member of Baker Chapel A.M.E. Church. He served joyfully in the Mass Choir and the Baker Knights. Pal loved to sing, his voice was often heard throughout the home as he happily sang in his room.

Pal was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind to cherish his memory and carry on his songs: his daughter Paula Mingo; grandchildren Sha’Nika Chiles, Ashton Sharp, Alfred Mingo (Maribel), Ida Brackett (Dominic), and Kelsie Mingo; many great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews from across the United States; and his loving Baker Chapel Church Family.
