Mary Jean WARNHOLTZ (née Wyse)April 25, 1931 - September 3, 2025Passed away peacefully at Bethany Lodge, Unionville, at the age of 94. In her last days, she was surrounded by her most of her children and five of her granddaughters. She is predeceased by her faithful and loving partner of fifty-six years, Fred Warnholtz. They met and married in 1951 after completing three years of in-depth Bible training at Emmaus Bible School in Toronto. They moved to begin pastoral work in Magog and Cherry River. Jean leaves behind her dearly loved family Ken & Helena, Pat & David Dawson (4), Nancy & Robin (3), Ron & Diane (4), Richard & Carla (4), Karen (3), Craig & Kathy (3), Karla & Ed (3), and Paula (1). Jean enjoyed and interacted with all her 25 grandchildren and the 31 great-grandchildren that followed. Jean was involved for many years as Commissioner of the Lennoxville District and Regional School Board. She sat at the provincial level with the Quebec Association of Protestant School Boards, serving for 22 years, including eight of those years on the Finance Committee of the QAPSB. She was honoured with two awards: the Long Service Award and an Award of Merit in recognition and appreciation for distinguished service rendered to education in the province of Quebec. In 1969, Jean and Fred co-founded Parkside Ranch, a year-round retreat center and summer camp. They endeavored to serve the Lord in providing "food, fun and fellowship" to children and youth, ages 10-16, for fifty years. Jean lived for and loved as her Savior, Jesus Christ, and faithfully encouraged all she spoke with – whether family, camp attendees or fellow school commissioners, to choose Jesus also. She will be greatly missed by her family, her many friends and the staff at Bethany Manor and Lodge where she was lovingly cared for over 19 years. The visitation and funeral will be held at Markham Bible Chapel, Saturday, September 13 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., followed by a luncheon. A private graveside service will be held in October in Cherry River.A more in-depth bio can be found on the website listed below.https://www.tributearchive.com/obituaries/45105127/mary-jean-warnholtz
