Pat Martin, Jr., also known as “Pop”, age 94, of Archer City, Texas passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Archer City Church of Christ with Pastor Dan Reddick officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday. August 28, 2025, at the Archer City Church of Christ.
Pat was born April 14, 1931, in Rochester, Texas to the late Patrick Preston Martin, Sr. and Evie Ragsdale Martin. He graduated from Rochester High School.
He and Jennie Lou Howard were married May 24, 1952, in Goree, Texas.
Pat honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954.
Pat was self–employed in the oilfield throughout his life. He was a member of the Archer City Church of Christ where he served as an Elder. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 198.
Pat loved playing golf and dominoes, fishing, camping and telling stories.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie of Archer City; son, Pat Martin III and wife, Teresa of Archer City; daughter, Donna Weaver and husband, Keith of Lubbock; sister, Teresa Scoggins of Rochester; seven grandchildren, Ramona, Joshua, Caleb and wife, Audra, Kristi and husband, Adam, Patrick and wife, Alex, Preston and wife, Emily and Nolan; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Cheryl and Louanne Martin; one sister, Odelia McGuire and husband, Ocie; and brother-in-law, Johnny Scoggins.
