Pat lived in my building. I didn’t know her well but she was always so friendly whenever I saw her. What wonderful tributes to her that I read tonight.

"The Little Things" I actually never worked with Pat because by the time I came to be employed in the department of Otolaryngology at UIC, she had moved on. However, when I came for an interview I flew up from Nashville to make my bid for the job. I wasn't that familiar with Chicago so when I asked someone about the best way to get to the airport, their answer wasn't really complete enough for me. They told me to catch the train which was right around the corner. This is where Pat...

I was so sorry to hear about Pat. She certainly was a force in the department and there was nothing she couldn’t get done. I know how much Boris valued her assistance and wise counsel. She will be missed, not only for her work ethic and devotion to the department but for her devotion to her many friends and family

For at least a decade, Pat would join myself, my dad Boris, my mother, George, Judith and Dennis for dinner once every few months, at the Grand Lux. After my dad passed, we continued this wonderful regular gathering of 6 very different people who all had mutual respect and love for each other, until George retired and my mother moved away. How I miss those days and I miss all involved. I remember when I first moved to Chicago, I did not know my way around and Pat was always willing and able...

I will always remember Pat for her kindness and selflessness. She was a rare human being, the likes of which are rarely seen. Looking out for others was always her top priority. I am grateful to have known her and I will greatly miss her. Rest in peace, Pat.

Pat has been one of my dearest friends for 35 years. She was utterly dedicated to serving others, working hard, selflessly giving to anyone in need, and doing it all with the highest standards, modestly and entirely without fanfare. My kids called her “Aunt Pat.“ She had a knack for showing up to every party with elegant dessert trays, then disappearing before the actual event occurred. When I wanted to visit with her, I would often have to invent some small request, because she would show up...

"Others First"
Pat, you were always the first to offer your hand and always the last to ask for a hand. You did all you could to lift others up so they could shine, while never wanting so much as your shadow in the picture. You were always first to compliment others, but never wanted to hear how truly wonderful you were as a person and a friend. Well, now you can't stop me from telling you my thoughts and I know you can hear me so please listen...what a beautiful, beautiful human...

Pat was a friend and mentor to so many, she was always an encouragement to young people and co-workers. I worked with her at UIC Otolaryngology and she will be greatly missed.

Patricia was a jewel. Such a sweet soul and a tremendously dedicated employee. She loved her job, the researchers, and staff that she worked with. Even post retirement, she continued to display her commitment to the research and UIC. She will be missed by many. God bless her family and friends.
