Patricia “Patti” Dawn Ottens, 72, of Alexandria, Virginia passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2025. She was born on September 9, 1952 at Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County, Illinois to Edward B. Ottens and Sallie B. Ottens. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Shirley Ann Parrott. She is survived by her brother Edward Ottens, her uncle Joe Page, nephew Stu Ellis Jr., nieces Sarah Jackson, her husband Jim and son Harrison, and Rebecca Gaunt, as well as a handful of cousins and a host of friends.
Patti was an adventurous free spirit with an infectious laugh. She enjoyed being creative through art, dance and song. A caretaker at heart, she deeply loved her friends and family. Patti worked as an ICU nurse at Alexandria Hospital. In addition to her career, she was eager to help those around her and jumped at the opportunity to assist through in-home care.
Patti’s remains will be scattered in a private event; no service will be held. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Red Cross.
