Patricia Kay Yocom , age 70 of Loretto, TN passed away Thursday September 25, 2025 at NHC Healthcare Scott after an extended illness. She was born on January 17th, 1955 in Ethridge, TN, and was the beloved child of Reba and Daniel Miller Jr. Pat Yocom graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1973 and went on to earn a certification in cosmetology. She owned and operated Pat's Beauty Shop for over 30 years. She enjoyed working with hair and the interactions with her clients, many of whom became extended family as was her personality and love for people. A relentless believer and practitioner of hard work, she began working for the postal service in her "down time' when not working in her business or farming. In her later years, "carrying the mail" as she called it became a great pleasure for her. She loved interacting and helping many along her mail route. Illness forced her to resign at the age of 66, even though she didn't want to.She married Wayne Yocom on September 19th, 1975. They shared 50 years of love and companionship. They became Catholic together in 1987. Pat Yocom was a devoted parent to her children, Danny Yocom, Steve Yocom, Ashley Dewitt, and Joe Yocom, and cherished grandchildren Falon, Emma, Evan, Kara, Bo-Austyn, Kurt, and Karsyn. She is often quoted as saying "there is nothing I wouldn't do for my children or grandchildren". Pat Yocom enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved to fish, sew, and cook for her family. She loved old television shows like the Andy Griffith show and Gunsmoke. She even liked to watch political shows at times but would change the channel when she got too mad. Most of all her favorite pastime was being helpful and generous to others. Many of her children's friends became extended family. They knew they were always welcome in her home where there was a good meal or a place to stay. Funeral Services will be held at Loretto Memorial Chapel on Monday September 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Danny Hallmark will be officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Ethridge TN. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday September 28, 2025 at Loretto Memorial Chapel.
