Patrick Michael Joynt, son of Hugh and Ellen (Elbert) Joynt, was born August 10, 1953 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He received his education at Emmetsburg Catholic School and graduated from high school in 1972.  Pat was employed with the Palo Alto County roads department where he drove a maintainer.  He worked in this capacity for over 24 years.

In 2013 Pat was married to Wendy Horsman.  Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing and going camping with his boys and teaching them the love of the outdoors.  He loved riding his motorcycle and gardening each summer.  He always looked forward to time he could spend with his kids and grandkids, having get togethers and BBQ pork feeds.

Pat passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 71.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Ellen Joynt and a brother, Tom Joynt.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy of Mallard, Iowa; his sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren, Brady and Nicole Joynt and their children, Brooklyn and Hailey of Webb, Iowa, Kale and Sheila Joynt and their children, Dalton and Isabel of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Hugh and Lisa Joynt of Mallard, Iowa, and Kolby and Ashley Joynt of Spirit Lake, Iowa; step children and step grandchildren, Katie and John Mammen and their children, Nash and Gage of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Jack and Mary Horsman and their children, Steven and Johnathan of Spencer, Iowa; brothers, Jim (Brenda) Joynt of Waterloo, Iowa and Mike Joynt of Emmetsburg, Iowa; a sister, Therese (Steve) Trojahn of Spencer, Iowa; his faithful canine companions, Betty Lou, Mr. Bojangles, and Maggie; as well as many other relatives and friends.Arrangements by Martin-Mattice Funeral Home
