Josiah, Jaron, and Anysia,
I’m so sorry for the loss of your dad. I can’t imagine all that you have gone through the past couple of years and most recently with this cancer battle. I know your dad has and was always a tough guy and that lives on in y’all and your kiddos. I hope you all are able to grieve in the ways that comfort you best. Giant hugs and so much love.

We often come across people in life who leave an unforgettable mark on our hearts — not just by what they do, but by who they are. For me, he was one of those people. To honor him, I choose to show kindness to others, because that is one of the greatest lessons we shared and believed in together.
He would often ask me, “Why do you care so much about me?” And my answer never changed. I told him, “Because you are someone’s son, brother, father, grandpa, uncle, and cousin. You matter in...

There aren’t many moments in my life that Paul wasn’t a part of. He was a good friend, but more like a brother and no matter how long it had been since we talked, we picked up where we left off and the years melted away. Since I was 15, Paul was always someone I admired for his strength and determination. To say my family and I will miss him just doesn’t seem like enough. Your fight is over, my friend, please rest easy.

I remember talking to Paul and Lisa about backpacking Europe and how much they enjoyed it and how their eyes lit up sharing it all. Their sense for adventure, love and childlike conversations was something I always wanted to enjoy in my relationship. He was always so friendly and kind to me. My mom Bernice is Lisa’s cousin. My prayers with the family for this sad loss but may he rest in peace in the kingdom with our father.
