I knew Paul when I was young from the church we went to.. I didn’t get to really know him til I had the privilege of working with him for a few years when he owned the grasslake grocery store.. he was a great boss and turned into an amazing friend who helped me out with life.. we had some contact when he had Chester’s chicken.. then lost touch again til he delivered a package to my house from Amazon.. it was nice running into him and we got to catch up a bit.. he definitely made a good impact...

Paul, I miss you desperately. You were my constant in our family. You and Bill formed a special bond when you were 14 years old. He introduced you to the grocery business; from Jewel, to Frito Lay. From Grass Lake Groceries, that you owned. Then finishing his career with Snyder pretzels. He always worked so hard to provide a good life for his family, sometimes 2-3 jobs at a time, or 12-14 hours a day. Yet he still found time for joy and fun. But he never enjoyed 1 day of retirement. Paul-you were a good big brother to me, a protector for sure. The best laugh and great sense of humor. May your memory be eternal.

I worked side by side with Paul for many years professionally. He was a kind man, with a work ethic that would obliterate most people. He always had some knowledge, advice, or a joke to share everyday. It’s heart breaking to hear of his passing, but it appears he left quite the legacy behind. My condolences to his family, rest in peace to a man who lived every moment of his life to the fullest.

My favorite vendor and always took care of my store. We will miss seeing him and his trailer.
