Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear of Paul's death. He was a wonderful professional advocate during my time of need. I knew what time of day it was when I saw him out running. My deepest sympathies to all of you. I thought he was the kind of guy who should live forever. I'm sure you did, too. I am certain he will now serve as a spiritual guide.

Judy and Family,

We are heartbroken to hear of Paul’s passing. I was blessed by God to have Paul enter my life. He could always see the positive when I thought the worst. He would say “Lew, look what we got”, and he was right. Paul was a wonderful man, an excellent attorney and will truly be missed. It was a pleasure running into him and we loved his laugh. With deepest sympathy Martha & Lew Milliner Jr

My sincere condolences to the entire Webb family, especially the children and grandchildren. I am very sorry for this great loss to your family.

Rob, very sorry for the loss of your father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Sincerely, Balko family.

Condolences to the Webb family and friends. Paul was a wonderful person and a great representative of Mayville and Chautauqua County.

So sorry for your loss

Paul's Obituary

Paul V. Webb, Jr., 74, passed away September 15, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA.

A dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather, he was born October 29, 1946, in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Paul V. Webb, Sr., and the late Nadine Webb.  He was a graduate of Gannon University, Syracuse University College of Law and a practicing attorney for 49 years.

Paul was a managing partner at the law firm of Erickson, Webb, Scolton & Hajdu and an active member of his community.  He loved the law.  It was his passion, and he commonly said he retired when he started practicing law.  He maintained the highest ratings for ethics and ability for over 25 years and was named an Upstate New York Super Lawyer for general litigation.  Over his career, he served on the House of Delegates for the NY Bar Association; was a member of the Fourth Department Attorney Grievance Committee, and was president of the Jamestown Bar Association.  Paul additionally served as town attorney for the towns of Carroll, Kiantone, Poland, and Village of Bemus Point.  He was chairman of the Jamestown City Republican Party, fire commissioner for the Town of Carroll for many years and helped establish the Rails-to-Trails section in Mayville named after his parents, Paul and Nadine Webb.  He partnered with his wife Judy to start and run the Victorian Christmas and Candy House store for over 13 years in Lakewood, NY.  Paul and Judy raised their family in Frewsburg for over 20 years, where Paul was proud to serve on the Frewsburg Central School Board and coach the Moore’s Hardware little league team.

Above all, Paul was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather to his eight grandchildren who he loved dearly.  He was very active in the lives of his children and grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed any time the family could gather at the lake for a cookout.  A lifelong Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan, he loved both watching and attending games with his children and grandchildren.  Paul was also an avid Army football fan proudly supporting his two sons who graduated from West Point, his grandson who currently serves in the Army, and his father who served under General Patton in WWII.  He was an avid runner, who cherished his lunch hour runs at the Jamestown YMCA with his colleagues.  He thoroughly enjoyed his weekly outings to play golf with his close friends, Mike and Joe, and spending time with his wife in their rocking chairs at the lake. He loved taking his dog, Simon, on long walks and mowing the lawn even when it didn’t need it.  He was always there for his children and grandchildren and will be very deeply missed.  In the end, he continued to teach his family by example what it means to be a fighter and to press onward when life gets difficult.

Paul is survived by his wife of 55 years, the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Judy Webb of Mayville, his four children, Darel Webb (Janel) of Mayville; Paul Webb (Maureen) of Lakewood; Robert Webb (Claudia) of Woodbridge, VA; and Holly Webb Chameli (Paul) of Aurora, OH; his eight grandchildren, Avery and Noah Webb, Emma and Jonathan Chameli, Lucia and Nicholas Webb, and Jack and Charlie Webb.  He is also survived by a brother, John Webb (Kathy) of Winter Haven, FL, and a sister, Mary Webb Peck (Gary) of Westfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nadine Webb, his sister, Anne Straitiff, and his brother, James Webb.

The family will have visitation on Sunday, September 19, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.  A burial ceremony will follow on Monday, September 20, at 11am in the Mayville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Mary of Lourdes RC Church in Mayville (PO Box 500, Bemus Point, NY 14712).
