Paula's Obituary

While surrounded by family, Paula Hoppen, 80, went to be with her heavenly Father on Friday December 29, 2017. Paula was born to Paul & Vera Roland on February 25th, 1937 in Alhambra California and spent her childhood in California. While still in high school she met the love of her life, Don Hoppen, who was then stationed at George Airforce base. They married in June 1955 after Paula graduated from high school and immediately headed to Walla Walla where they set down roots for over 62 years. Paula was proud to help with the family business as the bookkeeper for Custom Automotive for over 25 years. She was also an avid vegetable and flower gardener. She cherished her family and raised their children and grandchildren to know the love of her Lord and Savior. Paula enjoyed having her family together for any kind of celebration, birthdays, holidays, graduations, or "just because". She loved to fellowship with other believers, and cherished the friends she made at Bible Study Fellowship and as a member of Blue Mountain Community Church, where she attended for over 50 years, helping with Sunday School and Bible Explorers in her younger years.Paula was a woman of integrity, compassion, faithfulness, patience and love. She lived her life with an unwavering faith in God and was a true "prayer warrior". She was a great example to us all.She is survived by her husband Donald E. Hoppen, her 4 children, Dwight (Jaci) Hoppen, Bob (Julianne) Hoppen, Don (Kandee) Hoppen, all of Walla Walla and Sherry (Tiger) Stumbo of Auburn, WA, as well as 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Lona (George) Beardsley of Hesperia CA and Donna Roland of Green Valley AZ. She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 grandson. While we are excited that she is in heaven with Jesus, she will be missed until we can join her there.Memorial Services will be held at Blue Mountain Community Church on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 10:30AM.Memorial Contributions may be made to the Blue Mountain Community Church or the Walla Walla Community Hospice through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home 315 W Alder Walla Walla, WA.
