As I reflect back today I am so Grateful to of had a Mother like you. Your love , wisdom , loving heart and so much more will never be forgotten. Momma I know what I have to do and I will. I love you dearly and miss you Paula Jean.

Our Dear Mother Pauline Troupe (Sis) The Matriarch of our family was called home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2024, at Methodist Hospital Southlake. Pauline was born to Murphy & Pauline Ewing on January 25, 1936. in Aberdeen, MS. “Sis “as everyone called her was the 3rd child of 7 kids. Pauline was a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.

Pauline met the love of her life Abell Troupe in Chicago Il, and they became one on September 26,1952. This amazing couple was married 62 years before Abell preceded her in death on December 17, 2014. With this Union, they had 3 sons Garrick Troupe of (Gary, IN), Stevie Troupe of (Indianapolis, IN), Darwin Troupe of (Gary, IN) and 1 daughter Latoya (Dannie) Terry of (Indianapolis, IN).

“Sis” was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to so many.  To know this amazing woman of God was to love her. Pauline was a kind and generous soul who always put others’ needs before her own.

As a homemaker, she created a warm and loving environment for her family and children in the neighborhood. Pauline had 4 children of her own but helped raise and nurture so many more. Pauline loved children and had a special love for Allen and Erica. Her family fondly remembers her enthusiasm for cooking and baking. If you ever came to her home she greeted you with a smile, a hot meal, and a loving heart.

In addition to her love for family, Pauline found joy in various hobbies and interests including crossword puzzles,  crime movies, selling Avon and music, with a special fondness for Johnny Taylor. These interests were a reflection of her vibrant personality. Pauline was the Heart and Soul of our family and will truly be missed.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Abell Troupe, her parents Murphy & Pauline Ewing, her siblings Henrietta Ewing, Annie Mae Chenault, Parilee Ford, Lucy Vance, Sister Love Elizabeth Jackson and her cousin Signora Jones.

She is survived by her 4 Children and 2 Grandchildren that she raised Marquette Troupe and Toyana Troupe. She leaves behind 14 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren, siblings: Murphy (Gladys) Ewing and Durley (Joan) Ewing, Special Cousin Julia Peavy, Dedicated God Daughter Felice Jackson, Caregiver Danielle Clinton and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
