Peggy Jane Tomey, 76 of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 1:32 PM in her residence. She was born in Jasper, IN on July 13, 1940 to Walter O. Taber and Rilla F. Anderson Taber. Peggy had a heart of gold and was loved dearly and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge and the VFW Auxillary and the American Legion Auxillary. She worked as a CNA and also was a homemaker who touched many lives through the years. She loved animals, especially her Chinese Pug "Angel" and parrot "Jessie", whom she leaves behind. She is survived by her children William Robinson, Rodney Robinson, Larry Robinson, Leonard E. Tomey, Jr., Samantha Walker, Cheryl Hudson, Rosemary Tomey, and Andrew Robinson. Peggy is also survived by her brothers Ralph Taber, Roy Ingle, and Donnie Taber, and sister Irma Schnell, and had a very special place in her heart for her granddaughter Emma, as well as several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and also by a special friend, Michael Hakeem. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard E. Tomey, Sr., her parents, Walter and Rilla Taber, and siblings Richard Taber, Harley Taber, Eldena McNeil, Hazel Miller, Norma Beadle, Mabel Klee, Rosemary Lowry, and Katherine Foxworthy. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 10:30 AM, with Pastor Ken Coffman officiating. Burial will follow later that day in Shiloh Cemetery in Ireland, IN. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 4:00 -8:00 PM in the funeral home.
