Peter Walker Turner Maxwell, Sr.

  Peter W.T. Maxwell, Sr. departed this life on March 13, 2026.   He was predeceased by his parents, John Maxwell, Jr. and Ellen Walker Turner Maxwell, and his sister, Mary Ives Maxwell Pugh and her husband Charles Dean Pugh.   He is survived by his wife of 32 years Wilma McKinney-Maxwell and his brothers; John Maxwell, III Capt.Ret.(Cheryl), Edgar Maxwell (Kathy); his daughter, Amy Mosher(Robert), son, Peter Maxwell, Jr.(Sonya) and daughter, Joann Saunders (Jason). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews.  Special recognition is given to Steve Thomas who was more like a son than a friend.   He retired in 2006, after 42 years with Newport News Shipbuilding, as a master shipbuilder.   A private Celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request a donation to the Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, P. O. Box 1417, Gloucester, Virginia 23061.   Andrews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
