Not sure what to say?

I was the MD-PhD Program Director at Northwestern University Medical School when Peter was in our program, albeit for a brief time. He had unmatched drive and determination and that special charm that all who knew him appreciate. Peter and I developed a friendship over the years and he never failed to impress me, in his career accomplishments to be sure, but even more in how he gave to others. He had an amazing life and left the world a better place in ways big and small.

Sending deepest condolences and strength to your family. I’m just a few doors down if you need anything.

I knew Peter from Boy Scouts and Hazelwood Central. I remember talking to him once about Cyctic Fibrosis, not knowing what it was. He explained it to me, and talked about lots of different aspects. But what struck me most was his strong conviction that he could do anything and live the life he wanted. He brought passion and intelligence to everything he did. Although I didn't realize it back then, he was a role model to me.

Intellect, love, humility. These are three words that come to mind as Pete was not only one of the smartest people we have ever met, but you could also tell how much love he had for his family, while finding a way to serve others. Hang on to your memories tightly. Time will heal. Ellen, our prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

I was fortunate to have Peter in an honors math class during my years at Hazelwood Central. He came to class daily with many questions, challenges and always a smile. More than a few times he would ask "what if..." and I answered with "I'll look into that and get back with you tomorrow". He was alright with that but I always followed through knowing he would not forget. He took pride in discovering a mistake in our textbook so he wrote up a correction and I mailed it to the publisher.

Peter was a truly amazing human. Devin and I have frequently found ourselves talking about Peter, his humor and intelligence, his perseverance.we both feel honored to have had the opportunity to know him and this world will not be the same without him. Ellen, we are thinking of you constantly and praying for you and the family. I know God is holding you close right now. I love you so much.

Peter was wonderfully stubborn in a lovable way and very analytical. He must've known every Excel function ever formulated because he enhanced our Knights of Columbus roster to include factoids like the GPS coordinates where members resided and at what age they joined. During meetings, he wouldn't waste time on trifling matters and we always focused on future progress. Always grateful to his organ donors, he encouraged me to do likewise. I'm saddened because he was a good friend, loving...

You are a wonderful person and helped so many. We miss you

I was deeply saddened to see this. I met Peter from Monsanto> Pharmacia > Pfizer and we kept in touch through the years. Sending hugs and prayers to the family. May all his memories be eternal.
