Peter H. Vermilye

I am sorry to hear of Pete’s passing. He was a great guy, often welcoming and hosting friends. Pete had a warm heart and he will be missed.

So very sad to hear of Pete's passing. He was a terrific person and friend. Pete and I first met at the University of Denver. We struck an immediate friendship and remained life long friends. From Backgammon tournaments on the beach to skiing in the Rockies, to tennis matches and trail riding, Pete was always ready to have fun and to try something new. He will be sorely missed by all who knew his gentle soul. God speed Pete. You will always be in our hearts.

Great guy with a reserved sense of humor which was hilarious. He enjoyed people and often held cookouts for friends when he lived in the Boston area. He will be missed.

I was so sad to read this obit. Peter was a kind and thoughtful friend. I met him when I was in my early twenties. I still have the chef's hat that he gave me many birthdays ago when I had just started Tea Bags, a catering company that specialized in afternoon teas. I have not seen him much in the last few years, but will always remember him fondly. I send my deepest condolences to his siblings, and his nieces and nephews l.

I knew Pete as a kind and funny uncle. Pete was always to the point and didn’t sugarcoat things. After he became the eldest Vermilye he led pithy yet hopeful grace at Vermilye family Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Pete took joy in curating and maintaining the beautiful gardens at the Vermilye family home.
