With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Peter Ray Ybarra announces his passing on November 15, 2025 in his home. Peter was born on April 12, 1971 to Pedro and Ramona Ybarra of Reeves County. Later, the family moved to Midland, Tx where he was a proud graduate of Midland High School class of 1990. Peter was a very outgoing, hardworking man who spent most of his working years working on the pulling units. Peter was a cherished son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, cousin, and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched all who knew him. In his free time he enjoyed watching Nascar, hanging out with his family and friends, and most of all watching football, particularly the Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Longhorns. His presence and gentle spirit will be remembered forever.
Peter is survived by his son, John Albert Vela, daughters, Shady Marie Sandoval, and Vickiana Vela; his sister, Sandra Ybarra (Payan), brothers Michael and Henry Ybarra, family caregiver (baby sis) Tesany Torres (Dulce), grandchildren Saleen Marie Solis, Aaliyana Mya Lozano, John-Sabien Vela, Raphael GK Diaz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Ramona Ybarra, brothers Roy Joseph Ybarra Sr., Bobby Jose Ybarra, and Pete Ybarra- Melchor, sister Mae Ybarra, paternal grandparents Simon and Dominga V Ybarra, maternal grandparents Antonio and Florencia Lara, nephew Lil Pete Payan Jr. And grandchildren, Ralphie Marie Diaz, and Cario Henry Vela.
