I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed caring for Ms. Berg at the retirement center. She was a very sweet lady.

Phyllis L. Berg 81, of Decatur, IL passed away at 12:50 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2017, in Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
A service to celebrate Phyllis’s life will be at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at South Shores Christian Church with Pastor Steve Ingram officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning until service time at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to DMH Hospice Care. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.
Phyllis was born February 3, 1936, in Decatur, IL the daughter of Joseph and Hildred (Allen) Gass. She married James A. Berg on September 26, 1954. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1996. Phyllis was a former member of First Church of the Nazarene. She had formerly worked in the Deli for Eagle Food Store in South Shores but her legacy will be that of being a homemaker to her family.
Surviving are her children: Joseph Berg (Renee´) of Decatur, Brenda Kirby (James) of Bourbonnais, and James Berg of Decatur; grandchildren: Jarred Berg (Kim), Jessica Dalby (Justin), Michael Kirby (Kayleigh), Rachel Strode (Steven), Melissa Rattin (Cory), Bradley Kirby, and Jason Berg; great-grandchildren: Aubree, Carter, Aiden, Mackenzie, Olivia, Emma, Kayson, Raelyn, Claire, Emmett, Henry, Louis, and Jack.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sisters: Reva and Glenda.
