Phyllis Marie Fowler

Phyllis Marie Fowler, 46 of Fortson, died Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Columbus Hospice after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Memorial services will be 7:00 pm, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Antioch Baptist Church, Fortson with Rev. Gary Hartman officiating. A dinner for family and friends will be held at 6:00 pm prior to the service at the church.Phyllis was born January 18, 1964 in Lawton, OK the daughter of Sgt. Roscoe Lipe and Joyce Wilson Lipe. She attended Antioch Baptist Church and had worked for Mike Moon Family Properties. Phyllis loved the outdoors, particularly fishing. She was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer in 2005 and fought the disease until the end of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Bobby Weatherington, III.Survivors include her husband, Ray Fowler of Fortson; three children, Emily Fowler of Fortson, Donald Ray Fowler and his wife, Michelle of Cataula, Kimberly Dawn Fowler of Cataula; two grandchildren, Makayla and Alyssa Fowler; two sisters, Michelle Weatherington and her husband Bobby of Cataula, Debbie Hartwick of Mississippi; three brothers, Mike Lipe and his wife, Rose of Colorado, Donnie Welch and his wife Debbie of Nebraska, Troy Moses and his wife Paula of Mississippi; an uncle, Donnie Wilson of Mississippi and a number of nieces and nephews.Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton in charge of arrangements.
