Aunt Phyllis was fun loving, high spirited and deep rooted in her faith. I don’t think she ever met a stranger! We were privileged and blessed that she visited us while in Owensboro for the Mount Reunion last year. She wanted to visit to congratulate us on our 50th wedding anniversary. We took pictures and enjoyed her company. When we used to visit her and Mike when our kids were much younger, she introduced us to sausage gravy. They still love it! Phyllis Ann Troutman, 79, of Raywick, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. Born January 29, 1946, in Louisville, she was the owner and operator of “Clean as a Whistle” car wash and Troutman Gas in Lebanon. Phyllis previously worked for Marion National Bank and served as the Mayor of Raywick. A devoted member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Raywick, she was also a proud alumna of Mount Saint Joseph High School in Owensboro.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Bonaventure Troutman; her parents, James Maurice and Mary Evelyn Allen Thomas; two brothers, David and Jimmy Thomas.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Michael Townley (Scott) of Campbellsville and Pam Hutchins (Michael) of Loretto; one son, Tommy Troutman (Melissa) of Raywick; six grandchildren, Blade and Stealth Townley, Tanner and Micheala Hutchins, and Noah and Taylor Troutman; four great grandchildren, Atticus and Mary Grace Townley, Molly and Oakley Townley, and Scotty Townley on the way. one sister, Mary Kay Bland (Perry) of Lebanon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Friday, August 8, 2025 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick. Very Rev. Scott J. Wimsett, V.F. will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The visitation is 3-8 pm Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Deacon Stephen A. Age.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
Pallbearers are Stealth Townley, Tanner Hutchins, Cory and Jordan Thomas, Jeff Caldwell, Jimmy Clements, Loren Chesser, and David Cambron; Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Marion National Bank club.
