My condolences. I was lucky enough to have met Quentin early in my career at MEG. He always had time for a chat and to discuss an idea for our Field Environmental Department. Enjoyed the many times over the years he stopped in to catch up on family, snowmobiling, and anything else that would come to mind. His stories, smile and overall excitement for life will be missed.

Our Deepest Sympathy to The Family, Families and Friends.
Quentin will be remembered for his kind heart and laughter.
May you find strength at this very difficult time.
Rest in Peace

Im am so sorry for your loss. He was one of a kind. Always took the time to visit. May He Rest in Peace

Obituary

Quentin's Obituary

With great sadness, the family of Quentin Unick, proud father of three and active community volunteer, announce his passing on September 29, 2025. In his 55 years with us, Quentin shared his core values of hard work and helping others as he learned from growing up on the family farm. He was devoted to his family, celebrated every birthday and special occasion, as well as dedicated himself to his work spending 17 years at Canora Seed Cleaning Plant and nearly 20 years in the oilfield. In addition, Quentin volunteered with the Canora Fire Department, coached his children’s ball and soccer teams, as well as donated time and resources to local snowmobile clubs to ensure shelter maintenance and safe trails, just to name a few. Quentin would never hesitate to support fundraising efforts or lend a helping hand to those in need, both without needing to be asked. He had a sense of humor like no other and wanted nothing more than to put a smile on someone else’s face. From near and far, Quentin will be tremendously missed. Quentin was predeceased by his sister, Cindy (in infancy); father, Nick; and brother, Barry. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sierra (Dylan), Sydney (Zach) and Carter; mother, Sonia; brothers: Jeff, Dale (Shannon), and Anson; sisters, Jennifer (Alex) and Brenda (Larry); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends that were his chosen family. A Public Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday October 9, 2025. A Celebration of Life Service followed by a Prayer of Absolution will continue at 10:00 a.m., Friday October 10, 2025, both from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK. Interment will follow at the Dormition of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Mamornitz, southwest of Buchanan, SK. Memorial donations, if one should so desire, can be provided to a Charity of Donor’s Choice in remembrance of Quentin, or as a contribution towards a Memorial of the Family’s Choicehttps://giveto.ourtributefund.com?cid=d176ec4d367688770385303788f2dd06a6c67f22d0a1c7ec6831dfc1d93f3fdd*The family asks you wear comfortable, casual clothing to his service events in honour of your own or Quentin's vast interests: for example, your Snow Club, Rider Gear, sporting team jersey, etc. would all be appropriate!
