Smile big and hug hard. If nothing else, those are some of the most important lessons one couldn’t help but learn upon meeting RaeLynn Slade. Her infectious smile and sincere and firm hugs will be missed. After a challenging battle with a sudden, acute illness, RaeLynn was called home to her Heavenly Father and her Savior early in the morning of August 23, 2025, at the age of 25.
RaeLynn loved as hard as she hugged. She loved music and singing. She loved animals, especially cats, and aspired to work in the veterinary field. She loved Disney princesses, stories, and movies, and enjoyed spending time with her family at the Disneyland Resort and sailing on Disney Cruises. RaeLynn loved reading, writing, and sharing stories of fantasy and adventure, including with friends and family who shared common interests of Pokémon, D&D, and more.
Most of all, RaeLynn Slade loved the Lord. She served as a young Church-service missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving up food and smiles at the Riverton Office Building. She faithfully attended activities and events in her local family ward and in her Young Single Adults ward, where she served on the Family Home Evening Committee. She was always so grateful for the friends and leaders who helped her feel welcome and loved.
RaeLynn is survived by her loving parents, Noni Rae and Anthony, her younger siblings, Joseph, Ella, and Molly, grandparents, James and Karin Slade and Val and Noni Hill, great-grandfather Raymond Hill, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind many beloved friends and coworkers, for whom she is surely grateful for their kindness and support.
