Ralph was a wonderful neighbor, friend and fellow Rotarian for many years. He was kind, smart and when he had something to say, it was a must listen. Our condolences to Sylvia and the family.

Ralph's Obituary

Ralph E. Stevens, Jr., 87, of Merrimack NH passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a period of declining health.

Born in Manchester, NH on January 9, 1937, he was one of four children to the late Mary (Mayo) and Ralph E. Stevens, Sr. He was received his Bachelor’s degree from St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH and received his Master’s in Chemical Engineering from St. John’s University in Jamaica Plains, NY.

Growing up, he enjoyed oil painting, boxing, playing the clarinet and loved working in the garden.

As an engineer, Ralph worked for GTE Labs, Sanders and at Tyco Electronics, where he retired in 2007. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting (aka, long walks in the woods), feeding the chipmunks in the back yard, camping, boating, traveling, spending time with the grandkids, and would always help others out when they needed it.

He was a longtime member for the Merrimack and Nashua Rotary and with the Nashua Elks Lodge #720.

Along with his parents, Ralph was pre-deceased by his sister Priscilla Moran and a half-brother, Philip Legendre.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia (Lindley) Stevens; son, Kevin Stevens; three daughters, Ann Pyburn, Heather Stevens, and Tara and her husband Frank Dorr; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Robert Stevens and Ellen Bostwick along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 1 – 5 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack on Monday December 23, 2024 at 9:30 AM with burial to follow in Last Rest Cemetery.
