Not sure what to say?

Jolyn my deepest sympathy for your loss. Randy was a constant companion for me when I worked the overnight shift at the desk in the lobby ... He didn't sleep much but he loved to hop in that pool for a late night swim.! I wasn't really supposed to allow him to do that for obvious safety reasons..But neither of us cared a whole lot for rules if they didn't align with what we really wanted at the time... He was awesome, loving and so kind always had a huge hug for me at the start of my shift....

Randal was a great person. Met him on steam turbine inspections in California in 2024 and he was quite the professional and just a great friend. Rest in Peace Randal !

Great friend and fun to be around. You will be missed Randy, RIP.

Together again for eternity. Rest in peace Randal ♥

Randal's Obituary

Randal Kyle Boutwell (Randy) age 57, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on July 2, 2025.

A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025 in the Chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls with Mr. Ron Poole officiating.

Randy was born on November 2, 1967 at the Wichita General Hospital to parents Roy Kent Boutwell and Jolyn Suzanne Fox Boutwell, both of Wichita Falls. Randy attended Iowa Park High School, where he excelled in academics, athletics and general comedic studies. He later attended Panhandle State University on a football scholarship and then Midwestern State University where he also played football under the coaching of none other than his father.

Randy graduated with a dual degree in political science and Spanish. Randy then attended 1 year of law school, but decided that wasn’t for him. Instead, he attended Harley motorcycle mechanic school in Phoenix, Arizona and became certified. Randy worked various odd jobs in construction most of his life, but for the last 10 or so years was a millwright working on nuclear and steam turbine plants throughout the United States and sometimes abroad.

Randy had an absolute love for life and lived life to the fullest. He could strike up a conversation with a total stranger and become best friends with them in a matter of minutes. He could make you smile and laugh when you didn’t feel like doing so. He loved dogs (as much or perhaps more so than people, if that is possible) and would constantly go out of his way in public to ask an owner if he could pet their dog and take pictures. Randy owned several dogs and birds in the past, but his absolute favorite pal and side-kick was his 175 lb presa canario named Bone.

Randy loved to surf, scuba dive, and rock climb among many other activities. He was once caught scaling the side of a grocery store building off Loop 11 in Wichita Falls. Randy was one of a kind and will be missed very much.

Randy is preceded in death by his father, Roy Kent Boutwell and uncles Gary Lynn Boutwell and Tom Fox.

He is survived by his loving mother, Jolyn Boutwell, son Cody Conway and grandson Ridge Conway, brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Shea Boutwell, aunt, Peggy Boutwell, nephew Landon Boutwell and niece, Alexa Harper and husband Rowdy.

In honor of Randy and his love for animals, the family requests donations to the Humane Society of Wichita County.
