Great cousin, always kind and friendly to others. Very intellectually astute.

Randy was a very kind, considerate, mannerly person. He,always extended a friendly greeting to everyone. Having been a church member with him and Pearl for 25 years, it was a pleasure to have known both of them. I was so touched that he came to my mother's funeral in Kitzmiller in 2016 and then to my husband's funeral in Kitzmiller in 2023. I will certainly miss this first cousin. We had some enjoyable chats inthe grocerystore, at restaurants and so on. Randy was an all-around good guy. Love and prayers to his family.

Obituary

Randall's Obituary

Randall Blake Champ, age 80, of Arthur, WV entered the Gates of Heaven on September 3, 2025 at the Grant Rehab and Care Center in Petersburg, WV.  He was born on June 8, 1945, in Mouth of Seneca at North Fork Mountain, the son of the late John Robert and Ruth (Miller) Champ.  On May 26, 1974, Randy married Pearl Ann (Shockey) Champ, who preceded him in death on April 29, 2021.

Mr. Champ was a 1964 graduate of Circleville High School and a 1969 graduate of Shepherd University with a Bachelor’s degree in Science.  Randy began teaching in the Petersburg School System for 2 years and retired from American Woodmark as a manager after 36 years of service.  He was a member of the Brick Covenant Brethren Church, the NRA, the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), and was an avid hunter.  Randy was known as a kind, loving family man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Randy leaves behind to cherish his memory: 2 sons, Pastor Shawn Champ (Jennifer) of Maysville, WV; Adam Champ of Maysville, WV; 2 sisters, Aretha Kees (Tom) of Fairmont, WV; Darlene Tustin (David) of Maysville, WV; a brother, Danny Champ of Seneca Rocks, WV; and a granddaughter, Allison Champ.  In addition to his wife, Randall is preceded in death by a brother, Myron Lyle Champ.

Randy’s family will receive friends on Saturday, September 6, 2025, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, 2:00 PM at Brick Covenant Brethren Church in Maysville, WV with Pastor Shawn Champ officiating with Pastors Randy Cosner and Ted Anderson assisting.  Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery, Old Fields, WV.  Memorials may be made to the Brick Covenant Brethren Church, (11191 Lunice Creek Hwy.
