Randolph John's Obituary

It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the death of Randolph John Kramer, dearly beloved husband of Sally (nee Buchanan) on April 6, 2025, after a 15 month battle with soft tissue sarcoma.

Randy graduated from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia in 1977. He went on to a 25 year career in the banking industry where he achieved the rank of Senior Vice President, Operations. He ended his professional career as Business Manager and Interim Director at the United Coalition for Animals (UCAN) Spay/Neuter Clinic in Cincinnati.

He was known for his scintillating humor, astute communication skills, boundless generosity, and extraordinary love and devotion to his wife of 47 years. Randy was an avid sports fan, particularly of NFL football, MLS and Premier League soccer, and golf. He loved music and took great pride in his voluminous collections of vinyl records and board games.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Kramer, and his mother, Gerda Hain Kramer.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Brigitte Brueneman; nephews, Steven (Lori) Brueneman, Terry (Geoff Raker) Brueneman, and niece, Julie (William) Machesky.  He is also survived by brother-in-law, David (Bonnie) Buchanan; nephews, Colin and Ian Buchanan, and several grand nephews and nieces.

His memory will be cherished forever.

Visitation will occur on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 11:30 AM  - 1:30 PM at George H. Rohde and Son Funeral Home, with the Funeral Service immediately afterward at 1:30. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials in Randy’s name may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, at 9899 Main St., Suite 204, Damascus, MD 20872 (online at curesarcoma.org), or to a charity of one’s choice.
