Our community has lost a wonderful Christian man who was kind, considerate of others and had a joyful soul!
All of his 1969 classmates loved him!
As for myself he was truly a remarkable person. My heart breaks for you,Ted and Dewan!
I will miss him terribly.
I pray for your healing and peace that only God can give you.
Love and prayers my friend!

Ray Kenneth Colston, 73, of Sanger, passed away in Denton, Texas on May 9, 2025. He was born on August 9, 1951, in Dallas, Texas to Ruby Frances (Nunns) and Thomas Ervin Colston, Sr.
Kenny graduated from Sanger High School with the Class of 1969. On October 16, 1970, he married Nelda Lyn Garland in Sanger, Texas, where they would make their home and raise their two children. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked at the Walmart Distribution Center in Sanger as a Traffic Yard Check for 23 years.
Kenny loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Watersedge Fellow Church in Sanger, where he served on the Board of Trustees for 34 years. He opened the doors, made sure the coffee was ready for the members, and often continued greeting people at the door while the others worshipped. His daily life reflected his love for the Lord. He did not just talk the talk; he walked the walk.
Kenny loved his family and the time he spent with them gave him boundless joy. He always had a smile on his face and his personality was genuine.
Visitation for Kenny is at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Watersedge Fellowship Church; followed by funeral services at 11:00 am. Kenny’s nephew, Pastor Chad Stephenson, will officiate the services. Interment will be in the Bolivar Cemetery. Michael Hoops, Jr., Nathan Sprabary, Dusty Garland, Thomas Colston, III, Ethan Scheffler, and Steven Copeland will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors who will cherish his memory, are his wife 55 years, Nelda of Sanger; his daughter and son-in-law, Dawan and Chris Allen of Argyle; his son, Ted Matthew Colston of Sanger; his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Michael Hoops of Bonham; his brother and sister-in-law, James Edward and Susie Colston. Additionally, he survived by two grandchildren, Presley Paige Allen and Hudson Jack Allen, who affectionately called him “P-Paw.” His parents, and three brothers, Thomas Ervin Colston, Larry Eugene Colston, and Billy Don Colston, preceded him in death.
Coker Funeral Home has been entrusted with Kenny’s services. You are invited to share memories and offer condolences to www.cokerfuneralhome.com.
