Ray's Obituary

Ray Anthony Manning, 64, of Pontiac, Michigan, entered eternal rest on January 16, 2026. Born on January 5, 1962, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Ray was the beloved son of Maggie L. Manning and the late Shirley Manning, Sr. 

A proud graduate of Pontiac Central High School’s Class of 1980, Ray later attended IBA Beauty School, graduating in 1982.  As a licensed professional cosmetologist since 1988, he poured his creativity and attention to detail into his work, always ensuring those around him looked and felt their best.

Ray was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church February 10, 1980, by Reverend Roy C. Cummings. In more recent years he became a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Reverend Coley M. Gracey, and he loved his Church family.

He is survived by his mother, siblings, and a host of relatives and friends.  He will be deeply missed.

Ray will lie in repose on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 474 University Drive, Pontiac, Michigan, from 2:00pm - 6;00pm.

Funeral services will also be held at Shiloh Baptist Church on Saturday, January 31, 2026.  Family hour will  begin at 10:00am and the service will start at 10:30am.  Interment will take place at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 Perry Street, Pontiac, Michigan.
