Raymond Maynard

    Raymond Maynard, 79, of Winter Garden, FL formerly of McCarr, KY, passed away Monday morning, July 21, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Raymond was born March 20, 1946, in Williamson, WV, the son of the late Lewis Russell Maynard and Alice Hunt Maynard. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Harmon Maynard, Richard Maynard, Henry Maynard, John Maynard, Elva Maynard, Andy Maynard and Bertha Estepp. Raymond was a retired coal miner with Consol Mines and a veteran of the United States Army. Raymond is survived by his wife; Scarlet L. Maynard, his sons, Donald and Ronald Maynard; his siblings, Ken Maynard, Nancy Gore, Brookie Hall and Mertie Smith. He is also survived by his stepchildren; Gregory Berry and Brittany Berry, grandchildren, Araya Maynard and Kaydance Maynard; two step children, Becky Ferris and Jason Compton, step grandchildren; Arinonna Berry, Sadie and Layla Ratliff, and a host of other family and friends.     Visitation will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025, beginning at 11 AM with his funeral to follow beginning at 1 PM at the Duncan Fork United Baptist Church, Duncan Fork, WV, with Eddie Layne officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Family Cemetery, Duncan Fork, WV. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Belfry Chapter #141 of the D.A.V. R. E.
