Raymond L. Slabaugh

Raymond L. Slabaugh, age 90, of Nappanee, IN, died Thursday afternoon, June 19, 2025 at the scene of an accident on SR 19 North in Nappanee.  Raymond was born on July 11, 1934 in Nappanee to Levi T. and Lydia Ann (Miller) Slabaugh.  On November 25, 1954, Raymond married Linda D. Hochstetler in Nappanee. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Raymond was a retired farmer and also worked restoring tractors. He is survived by his wife, Linda Slabaugh of Nappanee; 8 children: Earl Leroy (Katherine) Slabaugh of Bremen, Lisle Ray (Brenda) Slabaugh of Bremen, Lovina Ann (Richard) Mast of Nappanee, Laura Mae (Edwin J.) Yoder of LaGrange, IN, Delbert Lee (Charlene) Slabaugh of Nappanee, Glen J. (Esther) Slabaugh of Shipshewana, Mary Esther (Stephen) Hochstetler, both of Nappanee, and Rachel Fern (John) Miller of Nappanee; 42 grandchildren; 77 great grandchildren; 3 siblings: Lonnie (Verba) Slabaugh of Nappanee, Jerry (Sara) Slabaugh of Nappanee, and Frieda (Glen) Burkholder of Nappanee.  Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; son, Levi R. Slabaugh; 3 stillborn grandchildren; 3 stillborn great grandchildren; a great grandson, Lucas Jace Lehman; and 4 siblings: Marvin, Delbert, and Leroy Slabaugh, and Martha Cesavice. Visitation will be held after 2 pm on Saturday, June 21, 2025 and all day, Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the family residence (13813 N. 950 W. Nappanee, IN 46550).  A funeral service will begin at 9:30 am on Monday, June 23, 2025, also at the family residence.  Bishop Marion Eash and home ministries of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will take place in Weldy Cemetery, Nappanee.  Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
