Raymond H. Vargas, Sr.

Raymond H. Vargas Sr. 91, of Lorain, peacefully passed on to embrace his Maker on Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on April 3, 1932, to parents, Salustiano and Juana (nee Vargas) Hernandez.

Raymond lived and worked in New York for many years, then moved to Ohio in 1965 to work at the Lorain Ford Motor Co. He retired to a quiet life in 1995 to enjoy his family and friends. He very much enjoyed the Spanish congregation at House of Praise Church, and loved the Lord. Ray found joy in telling the best stories to all who would sit a while, listen and laugh. He leaves behind a family who cared for him deeply.

His family will receive friends at Richard J. Reidy, Funeral Home, 1783 E. 31st St., South Lorain, Friday, September 15 from 4 to 8 PM. Visitation continues on Saturday, September 16 at 10 AM at House of praise International Church, 4321 Elyria Ave. Lorain. Service at 11 AM. His burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Lorain. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the House of Praise.
