Reatha Kay Smith Thomas, 70, passed away in a Greenville hospital on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
Reatha Kay Smith Thomas was born in Marshall, Texas to the parentage of Richard and Thelma L. Hollis Smith on Friday, November 26, 1954. Reatha move to Wolfe City, Texas when she was in the fifth grade. She received her formal education in the Wolfe City School District, graduating from Wolfe City High School with the class of 1973. At an early age, she accepted Christ at the Ebenzer Baptist Church in Wolfe City,Texas.
Shortly after graduation, Reatha married, had a son and relocated to Dallas, Texas where they resided for many years. She returned home to Wolfe City and began working at Smith Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. While working there, she trained to become a certified Medication Aide and later a Restorative Aide where she worked until she retired. Retirement fitted her well as she enjoyed bargain hunting, keeping in contact with friends and relaxing at home.
Loved one left to cherish Reatha’s precious memory: a son, Quincy Thomas of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Richard Smith, Jr. and W.D. Smith of Marshall, Texas; a sister, Shirley Smith of Marshall, Texas; an aunt, Virginia Simon of Los Angeles, California; a special friend, Eddie Jernigan of Wolfe City, Texas; a cousin/daughter, Natalie Hollis Hughes of Wolfe City, Texas along with a host of other close relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral Arrangements:
There will NOT be a public visitation.
