Regina L. McKeever "Gina" Bradby

1971 - 2024

Regina Lynette McKeever Bradby, affectionately known as “Gina” departed this life on June 1, 2024, surrounded by her family.  She was born in Petersburg, Virginia on August 26, 1971, to the late Edward Edwards and Frances McKeever.  

Gina was baptized at an early age at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. Gina attended Blandford Elementary School and Petersburg High School. She was employed by Hill-Phoenix for numerous years and was a retiree of Standard Motors. 

Gina was a two-time cancer survivor. Despite this, she was always smiling, hardworking, lovable, fun to be around and made friends everywhere she went. Gina would say, “cancer knocks me down, but I pick myself up and carry on.” God saw that she was tired and said, “come home my child. Cancer may have your life, but I have your soul.”

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Edwards; maternal grandparents, George and Lucille McKeever; her second father, James C. Macklin; brother, Larry “Tyke” McKeever; mother-in-law, Daisy Mae Bradby; uncles, George McKeever, Jr. (Lillie) and Lawrence McKeever, Sr. (Mary Frances); aunts, Helen Bennett and Laverne Smith (James); cousins, Roy “Chipper” McKeever, Mark Bennett, Diane Smith-Jackson, Janice Willis (Stanley), Yvonne McDowell-Williams, Danzell Seward and Latonya Graise; nephew, Dashawn McKeever and her best friend, Margaret Dabney.

Gina is survived by her husband, Sidney Bradby; three daughters, Qushonda McKeever (Khalil), Taylor Smith and Alexis Tabb; one grandson, Qushawn Sykes; mother, Frances McKeever Macklin; one godson, Tevin Graise; devoted friend, Jerome Sauls; four brothers, James Parham (Valarie), Paul Macklin (Cassandra), Joseph Macklin (Sylvia) and Greer Hinton; five sisters, Angela McKeever Lundy, Candace McKeever Bethea, Chriss Evans, Teresa Coles (Milton) and Tasha Hinton; one god-sister, Yvonne Lewis; father-in-law, Clarence L. Bradby; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Bradby (Pauline) and Clarence D. Bradby (Lakeisha); three sisters-in-law, Crystal McKeever, Joycelyn Harris (Burnett) and Jesselyn Crawley (Richard); nine nieces, Shavonta, Anndrica, Tiara, Kameka, and Tichinia McKeever, Teona Coles, Brittany, Shaquetta and Jerika Evans; five nephews, Dantae Trotter, Tyvon Graise, Sedrick Washington, Damian Rosser and Joseph Macklin, Jr.; four uncles, James McKeever (Marilyn), Alvin McKeever (Augusta), William McKeever (Deloise) and Robert McKeever (Dulceana); four aunts, Rev. Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Bethany Misisonary Baptist Church, 613 E. Wythe Street, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Eli Melvin, officiating. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
