Regina Ann Rosemire, the beloved wife of Stanley E. Rosemire and devoted mother of Stephen T. Rosemire, died at age 68 on March 1. The family has lived in the Paddock Hills neighborhood in Cincinnati for more than 40 years.
A residential mortgage loan underwriter by profession, Regina was a talented jewelry designer; engaged and invested friend; and prolific gardener. She had a remarkable brain. As a child, Regina taught herself Latin so she could read her father's notes in the margins of the daily newspaper. She spoke with authority on nature, geography, fashion, and the effect of her cancer on the human body. She kept an anatomy encyclopedia at her bedside. It was next to the guidebook she used to identify the daily visitors to the bird feeders outside her window.
Perseverance, humor, and strength marked Regina's long battle with cancer - a fight which did not slow her down. Regina crafted stunning jewelry from a vast collection of stones she gathered from across the world. To their delight, she gave dozens of bracelets and earrings to school children, caregivers, and friends. Her favorite stories were those about Stephen, devoted friend Cassie (Cassondra L. Thomas), and their rambunctious puppy Augie, as well those about her beloved companion Mac, the beagle.
She was a devoted soccer, swimming, and diving mother to her sons. The family was longtime members of Clinton Hills Swim Club and Regina served as a Paddock Hills Assembly Trustee. She most recently worked at Cincinnati Federal Savings & Loan.
Regina was born on March 29, 1957 in Louisville. She was the daughter of Dr. Thomas and Margaret "Marge" Huth (nee Herringer), who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by son Eric Stanley Rosemire; brother Timothy J. Huth; and sister Margaret Peters. She is survived by her husband Stanley; son Stephen; brother Dan Huth; and a host of family members and friends.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at George H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, 3183 Linwood Ave., Cincinnati. Complimentary valet parking will be provided.
A Celebration of Life will be announced later in the month. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blood Cancer United; American Cancer Association, American Heart Association, or Cincinnati Cancer Advisors.
