Regis James's Obituary

SALEM – Regis James Donnelly, Jr., age 66, died peacefully surrounded by his family at 8:36 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at his home. He was born February 21, 1952 in Salem, the son of Regis James Sr. and Veronica (Karasiewsky) Donnelly.   Regis worked as a tool and die maker retiring in 2011. He is a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He was a 1970 graduate of Salem High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Regis loved camping, golfing and rebuilding old cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.   Survivors include his wife, Judy (Barnhouse) Donnelly, whom he married July 31, 1993; a daughter, Sunshine (Dwaynne) Champney of Salem; a step-daughter, Abby VanHorn of Salem; a sister, Amy Donnelly of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Autumn Champney, Devon Champney and Evan VanHorn and one great granddaughter, Gianna Roberts.   Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 at Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Father Robert Edwards officiating. Calling hours will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
