Arrangements will be announced at a later date. Lowndes Funeral Home entrusted with all arrangements.

Mrs. Wittke was born September 8, 1950, in Macon, MS, to the late Ralph W. and Hazel Lee Misso. She is preceded in death by her husband – Gayron Anderson Wittke, Jr. to whom she was married over 50 years. She loved her children, animals, and most of all God and her Fairview Baptist Church Family. She dedicated her life to keeping over 200 children in her home in the span of 30 plus years. She wasn’t just a daycare , she reveled in teaching the children not only ABC’s and numbers, but how to count in 7 languages, states and capitals, the Presidents, and more you would have had to see to even believe. She loved singing and music and her favorite song was “I Will Survive”. She not only loved her family but also her fur babies. She took pride in her yard and her amazing collection of flowers that she faithfully tended to daily.

Mrs. Wittke is survived by her daughter- Shonda Wittke Beckham (Terry) of Vance, Alabama; son- Chris Wittke of Columbus; sister- Glenda York of Daleville, Alabama; granddaughters – Lexi Wittke of Columbus and Katelyn Dick (Westin) of Silverdale, Washington; and grandson – Ryker Wittke of Columbus. She is also survived by her fur daughter Schatzi and her very best friend and sister in Christ- Elaine Wierengo. She also leaved behind her cats; Froggy and Skeeter.

The family would like to give special thanks to Fairview Baptist Church for giving her a home there and for her grief group friends, who had become her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Columbus- Lowndes Humane Society, 50 Airline Road, Columbus, MS 39701.
