Gottfried "Bill" William Volland, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, decorated veteran, and dedicated Freemason, passed away peacefully at his home on December 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 83 years old.

Born on December 5, 1941, in Park Falls, WI, to Anna and William Volland, Bill grew up with a deep sense of duty and patriotism. In 1968, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army, where he proudly served for over 20 years. He began his military career during the Vietnam War, with subsequent tours in Korea and Germany, ultimately concluding his service in Texas, where his bravery and leadership earned him numerous commendations.

During his service in Korea, Bill met and married the love of his life, Suk Cha Chong. Together, they raised two daughters, teaching them the values of integrity, compassion, and perseverance that defined his own life.

After retiring from the Army, Bill continued his service to others, working in civil service for 19 years. His contributions to countless projects left a lasting impact, and his unwavering dedication was felt by all who worked alongside him.

Bill will be remembered for his steadfast faith, generous spirit, and deep loyalty. He cherished the simple joys of life, such as fishing, family vacations, worshiping with his church community, and spending time with his Masonic brothers.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Suk; his children, Andrew (Stacy), Sheila (Bryon), and Sharon; and his beloved grandchildren, John, Jacob, and Elizabeth. He also leaves behind his sister, Lisa, and numerous stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces, and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and William.

Bill’s legacy of faith, service, and love will forever inspire those who knew him. While he will be deeply missed, his family and friends take comfort in knowing he is now at peace in his heavenly home.
