Rev. Charles Harrison Root, Jr.

Rev. Charles Harrison Root, Jr., 81 of Graceville, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Thursday, November 11, 2010.Rev. Root was born in Tennerton, WV on April 19, 1929 to the late Charles H. and Clara Amelia Young Root, Sr. He was a U. S. Army Paratrooper Veteran of the Korean War. Rev. Root a retired Southern Baptist Minister, served several churches in the Southeast and as a missionary in Mexico for over 30 years. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church.Survived by his wife of 60 years Laura Root of Graceville, son Charles Timothy "Tim" Root of Graceville, two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle & Jonas Schwartz of Austin, TX, Sylvia & Vernon McClure of Quincy, FL; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.Funeral service will be held 6 p.m.(CST), Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service. Graveside service will be held 1 p.m.(EST),Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010 at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Greensboro, FL, James & Lipford Funeral Home
