We offer our condolences to the family of the late, Rev. Charles Edward Thurman, Sr., of Huntsville, AL.(formerly of Belzoni, MS). Rev. Thurman, 88, transitioned from labor to reward, Tuesday, 12/23/2025, at the Windsor House Nursing Home in Huntsville, AL.
The public visitation will be Friday, 1/9/2026, from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Belzoni, MS.
The Homegoing Celebration will, Saturday, 1/10/2026, 11;00 a.m., at Green Grove M. B. Church, in Belzoni, MS. The body will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
The burial will be at Sutton Cemetery, Belzoni, MS.
Officiating: Rev. Roosevelt Thurman, Sr. Our beloved Rev. Thurman leaves to cherish his memories his sons, Rev. Robert Moore, Rev. Charles Thurman, Jr., Rev. Roosevelt Thurman, Sr. & Mr. Eugene Thurman, Sr., daughters, Catherine Mayweather, Rev. Gwendolyn Thurman & Karen Harris, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
